Petrus is the most legendary wine of Pomerol and one of the most sought-after wines in the world. Grown on barely 11.5 hectares on Pomerol's famous clay plateau, it owes its unique character to the celebrated blue clay 'buttonhole' found nowhere else in Bordeaux.
Made from virtually pure Merlot, Petrus captivates with its incomparably velvety texture, deep aromas of black truffle, blackberry, violet and cocoa, and exceptional length. A wine of remarkable ageing potential, it improves for 30 to 50 years in the cellar.
Owned by the Moueix family, the estate produces only around 30,000 bottles a year — as much a collector's asset as a drinking pleasure.
Pairings: fine red meats, game birds, truffle dishes. Storage: lying down, 12–14 °C, away from light. Careful, insured delivery throughout Switzerland.
